Steel Bases

A steel base around your cart or flow rack will greatly limit the amount of accidental damage that can be done to them.  Not only does it make it easier to relocate a “fixed” piece of equipment, but it can also prevent damage from fork lift and other mobile pieces of equipment if they were to bump into the bottom of the unit.  If you need to make a unit mobile, then a steel base with casters not only keep it structurally sound during transport, but also makes relocating them easier.  For larger carts, a steel base might just make more sense than simply adding casters to the unit – it will be stronger, hold up to pushing and pulling stresses better, and allow the addition of hitches and tow bars for use with motorized material movers.
